§Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Intentions. By creating an account, downloading the app, or using any part of the service, you agree to these terms — and to our Privacy Policy, which is referenced here and forms part of the same agreement.
If you don't agree, please don't use Intentions. That's the simplest version. The rest of this page explains what that actually means in practice.
§The Service
Intentions is a daily ritual companion for conscious living, available on iOS and Android. It helps you set a meaningful intention, check in with how you feel, and take one small action that moves you forward.
Intentions is not a medical, psychological, or therapeutic service. Nothing in the app — including conversations with the AI coach, insights, oracle cards, breathwork or check-ins — is medical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or therapy. It is not a substitute for care from a licensed professional.
If you are in crisis, having thoughts of harming yourself, or experiencing a medical emergency, please contact local emergency services or a qualified professional. The app cannot, and is not designed to, respond to emergencies.
§Your Account
You need to be at least 13 years old to use Intentions. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has read these terms and agreed to them on your behalf.
When you create an account, please give us truthful information — an email address you actually use, a name you're comfortable with. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in credentials private and tell us promptly if you suspect someone else has gained access.
One person, one account. Don't share an account with someone else, and don't use someone else's.
§Subscriptions & Billing
Intentions offers a 14-day free trial when you start a new subscription. After the trial, your subscription renews on a paid plan unless you cancel before the trial ends. You can cancel at any time during the trial and you won't be charged.
We currently offer two plans, each available monthly or yearly:
- Essentials — $9.99 per month or $109.99 per year. Includes one coaching session per week, one insight per day, and one oracle card per week.
- Deep Dive — $12.99 per month or $139.99 per year. Includes three coaching sessions per week, unlimited insights, and unlimited oracle cards.
Subscriptions are billed and processed by the platform you bought from — the Apple App Store for iOS, and Google Play for Android. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at the time of purchase or at the end of your free trial, and the subscription auto-renews for the same period until you cancel.
To cancel before your next renewal, manage the subscription in your platform's account settings — not inside the Intentions app. On iOS that's your Apple ID subscription settings; on Android, your Google Play subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for; you keep full access until then.
Refund policies are set and enforced by Apple and Google, not by us. If you believe you're owed a refund, please request it through Apple or Google directly. If we can help, write to us and we'll do what we reasonably can.
Prices may change. We'll give you advance notice before any price change affects your renewal, and you'll have a chance to cancel before the new price applies.
§Acceptable Use
We've built Intentions as a quiet, considered space. Please use it that way. While using the service, you agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or otherwise extract content or data from the app, our servers, or other users;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
- harass, threaten, or abuse anyone — including our team — through any channel connected to the service;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, models, or proprietary data behind the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
- attempt to jailbreak, prompt-inject, or otherwise coerce the AI coach into producing illegal, harmful, or sexually explicit content involving minors, violent threats, or content designed to harm yourself or others;
- use the service to build a competing product, train another model, or resell access in any form.
We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we may decline to restore access where the behavior is serious or repeated.
§Your Content
The intentions you set, the journal entries you write, the voice notes you record, and the conversations you have with the coach are yours. You own them. We don't claim authorship of your reflections.
To actually deliver the service, though, we need a narrow license. By using Intentions you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, encrypt, transcribe, summarize, and otherwise process your content — only as needed to run the app, keep your data safe, comply with the law, and improve the experience for you. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we're required to keep something for legal reasons.
We don't sell your personal content, and we don't share it with advertisers. The Privacy Policy goes into more detail about who touches what, and why.
§AI-Generated Content
The AI coach, the daily insights, the reflective prompts after an oracle card draw — these are generated by language models. They're designed to be thoughtful, but they are not a person, and they are not always right. Outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date.
Please don't treat AI output as professional advice. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, tax, or safety advice, and you shouldn't make important decisions about any of those things based on what the coach says. For decisions that matter, talk to a qualified human.
If you ever see output that feels wrong, harmful, or out of character for the service, let us know. We use that feedback to make the coach better.
§Intellectual Property
The Intentions name, the logo, the wordmark, the illustrations, the photography, the ambient sounds, the copy on this site and inside the app, the visual design, and the underlying software all belong to Intentions or our licensors. They are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own, non-commercial use, while your account is in good standing. That license doesn't transfer ownership of anything, and it doesn't let you redistribute, republish, or repackage the app or its content.
§Disclaimers
Intentions is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any defects will be corrected.
We do our best to make Intentions reliable and useful, but we can't promise it will always be available, or that any specific feature will work for every person in every situation. Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
§Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Intentions and its team will not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or substitute services, arising out of or in connection with the service, even if we've been advised that such damages are possible.
Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the subscription in the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these kinds of limitations — for example, where you have rights as a consumer that can't be waived. Where that's the case, the limits in this section apply only to the extent allowed by your local law, and your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
§Termination
You can stop using Intentions at any time. You can delete your account from inside the app, which removes your personal content from active systems on the timeline described in our Privacy Policy. Before you delete, you can request an export of the content you've created — your intentions, journal entries, and saved cards — and we'll send it to the email on file.
We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your use puts the service or other people at risk, or if we're required to by law. Where it's possible and reasonable, we'll give you notice and a chance to fix the issue first.
Sections that, by their nature, should survive — like intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — survive termination of your account.
§Changes to These Terms
We update these terms occasionally — when we add a feature, change how billing works, or need to clarify something. When we make a change that materially affects your rights, we'll let you know in advance by email or through a notice in the app, and we'll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
If you keep using Intentions after a change takes effect, that counts as acceptance of the new version. If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription and close your account.
§Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in [jurisdiction] will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that isn't resolved informally first.
If you're a consumer, this section doesn't take away the right to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, or to rely on protections that your local law gives you that can't be waived by contract.
